Iris Eytan is the Founder and CEO of PEP. She has been a civil rights and criminal defense lawyer in California and Colorado for decades. Iris has defended more than one thousand people in criminal cases while working at the Colorado Public Defender’s Office, Reilly Pozner, LLC, and her own law firm.

She quit practicing criminal defense in 2022 after watching too many clients’ lives be destroyed by prosecutorial misconduct. Since there was no clear reform on the horizon, Iris founded Protect Ethical Prosecutors and is determined to educate the public about prosecutorial misconduct. She aims to enact methods to hold prosecutors accountable and create a way for the wrongfully accused to obtain recourse.
