Don Siegelman
Don Siegelman is an American politician who was the 51st governor of Alabama from 1999 to 2003. Siegelman is the only politician in Alabama history to hold all the state’s top four offices: Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General and Lieutenant Governor. He earned a J.D. Degree from Georgetown University Law Center and studied international law at Pembroke College, Oxford. He endured a criminal prosecution conducted by politicized prosecutors and a corrupt judge who used the federal judicial system to ensure he would not be governor for another term. Siegleman is an author, and a staunch advocate for a fairer criminal legal system and one that eliminates absolute prosecutorial immunity.
